The hurricane barrels on. The experts are clocking it, but There is no stopping it and People are afraid. Should they flee or hunker down? Should I pray that Irma will veer out To sea, that it will diminish? I do, and yet my faith is small, and It's hard to pray from afar where the Sun is shining and my most important Task today is doing laundry. But I try to picture myself there. If I were in the throes of the Storm, I would be crying out to God for mercy. And so I pray for those in the Path of destruction. "Lord, be their hope. In the depths of Their despair display your goodness. In their day of trouble, be their Stronghold. And have mercy, Lord. Have mercy." "The Lord is good, a stronghold in The day of trouble."
