The words came first, and then I hummed a
Simple tune to fit the two together.
"Apart from Me, my child,
You can do nothing.
On your own, whatever you do,
Amounts to nothing.
Entwined with Me, and I in you,
We can do worthwhile deeds,
But on your own,
Apart from Me,
You can do nothing."
I wish I could share my tune.
(I hope I can remember it.)
But my homely little song, written by
Jesus and me, will spin around in my
Head and heart today.
"I am the vine, you are the branches. If a man remains
in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit, apart from me
you can do nothing." John 15:5
