Periphery of the church, and
More people were pouring in.
The man who had died was
Respected and much
Loved, and so many friends
Came that many of them
Wouldn't reach his
Widow before the service
Began.
As I chatted with those inching
Along with me, I thought about
Our purpose for being there.
Gazing at the shell of the dear
Man it once held wasn't the
Main attraction.
In fact, the woman in
Front of me
Refused to look at all.
We were viewing the pictures of
Him and his family in
Happier days.
We were viewing the courage
Of his wife/widow standing
There.
We were viewing the strength
God gave her to smile and
Console those who came to
Console her.
We were viewing the hope of
The family who grieved, and
The love in the faces of
Those who came.
We were viewing the difference it
Makes when one who loves
Jesus is called home.
