Optimist.
She sees her glass half full and maintains a
Cheerful spirit.
Then it was my turn.
"I tend to be the opposite," I told her.
"But I'm not actually a pessimist.
I prefer to call myself a realist."
It's my melancholy nature.
When a dear one is sick, I pray for the best but
Prepare for the worst knowing what happened to
Min, and Carl, and Jack and Mark.
I nix a trip because of past traveling
Disasters.
I resist change.
I expect it to rain on my picnic.
What a terrible attitude!
But God is working on me, helping me to
Shift my outlook to a positive one.
Jesus, the man of sorrows, is my example.
He was able to endure the cross because He
Saw the unspeakable joy that was ahead.
I must not coddle my gloom.
I must choose over and over again to
Focus my eyes on the joy.
"Jesus...for the joy that was set before Him, endured
the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at
the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:3
