Been in a state of transition,
Continually.
From smoke signals to the
Telegraph, to smart phones to
Who knows what's next?
Often I rebel, for I prefer the
Familiar.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
But since I've frequently been proven
Wrong, I know I must be willing to
Adapt.
I remember the days before
Air conditioning, McDonalds and
Kleenexes.
Who would want to go back?
(Especially to hankies.)
However, I must be discerning.
Throw-away plastics have turned out to
Be a nemesis for our oceans and
Social media has a deadly downside.
I'm cautious.
New isn't always better and fads
Seldom last.
In tossing the obsolete, I must not
Throw the baby out with the bath.
