Each morning Jenny has challenged us to
Post a hymn or gospel song on her page that
Begins with her alphabet letter of the day.
I delight in seeing the choices of my friends,
Often the same titles as mine.
And I find joy in recalling the hymns we sang in
My country church on the crossroads.
We sang rousing ones like "Love Lifted Me,"
Or more subdued ones like "Pass Me Not O
Gentle Savior."
On Wednesday nights to close prayer meeting
Our small group held hands and sang
"Blessed Be The Tie That Binds" with just our
Voices, no piano.
It was no problem coming up with a hymn from
A-S.
But what about "Q?"
The best I could do was "Blessed Quietness."
But the refrain is comforting:
"Blessed quietness, holy quietness,
What assurance in my soul!
On the stormy sea, He speaks peace to me,
How the billows cease to roll." *
It's what I need during these troubled days,
Blessed quietness.
But I did add a suggestion to Jenny's page
Today.
I wish someone would write a song with the
Title, "Quickly Come, Lord Jesus."
