"Lord, I need Your help."
But in a moment I edited my
Request.
I need You to be in charge,
To take control.
More than just Your help, Lord,
I need You.
The prayer slipped from my lips,
"Lord, I need Your help." But in a moment I edited my Request. I need You to be in charge, To take control. More than just Your help, Lord, I need You.

I love the old hymns.
From a toddler I sang them in my Little country church. The familiar words and melodies comfort Me when I need comforting and help me Praise when I need to praise. But I'm learning to appreciate new Worship music as well. The tunes may be hard to sing at the Beginning, but if I try, I can learn them, And often the words have great meaning. In church, on Resurrection Day, we sang a More recent one with great joy. As I was getting ready for church, the same Song began to play on my radio. I stopped. I turned up the volume on my kitchen radio And on my bedroom one as well, And standing in the hallway between the Two I listened and mouthed the words as I waved my arms in celebration: "Then came the morning that sealed the Promise. Your buried body began to breathe. Out of the silence, the Roaring Lion declared the Grave has no claim on me..." * The powerful truth threatened to make my Heart burst. He is not just my future hope but my living Hope right now. I'm glad I'm adapting. How deprived I would be if I weren't willing to Add new worship songs to my arsenal of Time tested ones! "He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God..." Psalm 40:3 *Living Hope by Phil Wickham I was curious.
What do tattoos look like on Old people? I checked the internet and was Surprised to discover that the Designs fare fairly well. I'm not a tattoo type, but I Don't pass judgment. Inking is a personal choice. But I read in Scripture that God's people are engraved on the Palms of His hands. Our faces are always before Him and Our images will never ever fade. "I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands..." Isaiah 49:15,16 My friend reminded me that the
Hardest time to live alone is when You are sick. I wish I lived closer. I'm delighted when I discover that
God has turned the dislike I Once had for a person into Acceptance and love. Who doesn't love a butterfly?
My neighbor planted a special Bush to attract them. They seem almost magical. In a sense, they are. The documentary I watched on T.V. depicted the intricate stages That are necessary for a caterpillar to Become the beautiful winged Creature. The narrator was incredulous. "Science can describe metamorphosis, but It isn't able to explain how or why the Transformation can possibly take place. It's miraculous," he said. We need eyes to see. The worm turned butterfly is the Handiwork of a magnificent Creator, And it's a picture of what lies ahead For me. Clutter unsettles me.
It's why I clear off my counter as I'm cooking, and why I glance across my Living room to see if anything is out of Place. I can't relax when my surroundings are In disarray. It's also true when I get ready for my Alone time with Jesus. I must declutter my mind. Pressures of the day and worries of the Future pile up and try to crowd out my Peace. I sing a worship song, or two, or Three until my spirit is calm. I open my Bible to the Psalms and Read a passage out loud. I choose a few cards from my Bible Verse memory basket and repeat them. I bow my head and heart in submission to My Father and, finally, with the annoying Mental clutter removed I can Pour out my heart to Him in Prayer and praise. I was perusing the potted plants at
The store wondering whether I Should buy one. A lady joined me and pondered the Posies with me. "I love the hyacinths," I said. "My husband used to plant them," she Responded. "Is he gone?" I asked. "Yes, he died suddenly of a Brain hemorrhage." "Really? So did mine, except that He lived several weeks." We compared notes. We both have 2 grown daughters and Live just minutes away from each Other. "I believe we were meant to meet Here," she said. "Indeed! I prayed for a divine appointment This morning, and you're it." We chatted longer and then prepared to Say good-by. "What did you say I was? I don't want to Forget." And on the back of the tract I gave her I Wrote, "You are my divine appointment Today." We exchanged phone numbers too. I suspect our meeting today won't be The last. It was a physicist who discovered
Radio waves in the 1800s. They'd been an invisible presence in The atmosphere all through the Ages, but it was Heinrich Hertz who Created a simple device to receive them, To prove their existence. My knowledge of physics is abysmal, But I can borrow the principle. God is also invisible, but it doesn't mean He's not operative in the universe. The reason people believe He's just a Myth, That He doesn't exist is because they Haven't opened their hearts and Minds to receive Him. |
