The Hallelujah Chorus.
I've heard the anthem sung at a
Wedding or two, but today was
The first time I sang along with
The chorus at a funeral.
A Christian service celebrating the
Life of a loved one who's gone home is
A paradox.
We weep.
We mourn.
We grieve intensely.
But amidst it all we rejoice.
We rejoice that at the cross, death
Was defeated.
We rejoice that Don is alive now more
Than ever and that our goodbyes are
Temporary.
And so I stood and sang my heart out,
My voice cracking with emotion and my
Heart in danger of exploding.
I sang hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
And for good measure I'm singing it
Again.
Hallelujah!
