Been able to share a bracelet, and so
When I walked into Walmart I looked for
An opportunity.
Instead of going through the self
Check out I waited my turn at a
Register.
I made small talk with the stooped over
Cashier and noticed her arthritic hands.
I felt compassion for her.
Coming up behind me was a cheerful
Fellow who offered to lift my
Watermelon to the conveyer belt.
I noticed his Navy cap and shook his
Hand thanking him for his service.
I told him about Jack.
He's based in San Diego but was in
Columbus for training.
My mind wavered.
Should I give him a bracelet?
Yes!
"I have a gift for you," I said.
I removed the leather beaded strap from my
Wrist, tied it to his and explained the colors.
He was delighted.
"I've made a new friend," he told the
Check out lady.
"Next time maybe she'll bring one for
Me," the woman said.
"I have one in my purse just for you," and
She stopped her work long enough for me to also
Tie one on her wrist.
I had walked into the store hoping to give away
One bracelet, but God had planned for me to
Give away two.
