It was Jack's chair. We bought it after we were Married to match our sofa, and It soon became Jack's throne. I can still picture him dozing in the Recliner with our pooch, Buddy, on his lap. We passed the beige overstuffed Chair on to our neighbor when Jack's Health declined and he needed a lift chair. It pleased me to see the recliner when I Visited my friend. I was glad it had a second life, and a Second dog to enjoy the soft seat as well. But eventually, the well worn chair became Tattered around the edges and Deanna Ordered a new one to take its place. Stepping outside today I was caught by Surprise when I spied the familiar chair sitting By the curb ready to be hauled away. The recliner looked forlorn and out of Place, but resigned to its fate, I guess. Everything wears out. Not just old chairs, but the dear people who Sat in them too. |
