My neighbor's old T.V. stand
Wouldn't fit in her trunk.
But since I had space in mine I
Offered to transport the outdated
Item to Good Will.
After dropping it off I browsed
Through the store.
I searched and searched for a
Bargain when I spotted the
Christmas jacket for four dollars.
The young cashier approved.
"It's so cute," she said."
"What's your favorite part about
Christmas?" I asked.
"Just being with family.
I love my family."
"I do too," I answered.
And since no one was in line we got
Acquainted.
She's a college student and wants to
Be a social worker.
When I pulled out my credit card I
Pulled out three of my tracts as well.
"Which one would you like?" I asked.
She chose, "Life Isn't Fair."
I'm sure she's often faced the
Inequities in our broken world.
And as I left I noticed she was
Already reading the message of
Hope.
A new jacket.
A divine appointment.
I'm so thankful for an oversized trunk.
