Since my elderly neighbor doesn't own a Car, the two of us took a jaunt today in Mine. I drove along deserted country roads to The backwaters of Alum Creek. We stopped on the secluded byway to Get a view of an osprey nest in the Distance. Charlene's eyesight was too poor to See the birds, but she trusted me That they were there. I snapped a picture. The landscape was dull and gray but I pictured it as it soon will be, green With new foliage. Actually, the bare branches gave me a Better view of the hopeful nesting pair, just Like the acts of kindness stand out more Than ever right now in our barren world. A neighbor hung a jar of peanut butter on My door. A friend called just to check up on me. Many are out and about doing good, Spreading cheer, not fear. Our drive today rejuvenated my friend and Me even though the sun was hiding the Entire time. It was a reminder that fledglings will be Hatching and green leaves will be Sprouting soon. The pandemic will end. There are better days ahead. |
