The residents at the senior facility watched As I pulled the construction paper hearts from My valentine bag. Each heart was labeled: SINFUL-the heart we're born with. PURE-the heart Jesus gives us when we become His Child. TRUSTING-a heart that believes Jesus is in control. CHEERFUL-a heart that is like good medicine. But the next heart I showed the old folks was Ripped in half. We understood. All of us had had broken hearts. Finally, I held up a heart that was labeled MENDED. It was taped back together and I said, "Jesus Heals our broken hearts." I reminded the sweet faced seniors that even After our hearts are healed we still bear Scars. But the wounds help us to be more sensitive To other injured souls. And, lastly, I reached into my bag and pulled out Chocolate hearts. When I passed them around we all ended up with Happy hearts. |
