Her son-in-law is a police officer, and her
Husband is bi-racial.
He wanted her to attend a protest with him,
Not to be aggressive, but just to show support.
She hesitated, but agreed to go along.
Fortunately, the crowd was mostly
Peaceful.
As the couple stood on the steps of the
Statehouse, a black lady called out to the
Crowd, "I would like to have prayer.
Anyone is welcome to join me."
My friends moved into her circle.
"I was a mess," the lady said. "I was
Broken down with drugs and alcohol, but
God changed my life. I want you to know He
Can change yours too."
And as the bold restored woman prayed out
Loud, the others quietly joined in.
"It was a God moment," my friend said.
"I was so glad to be part of it."
The prayer meeting was overlooked by the
Media, of little significance to them.
But to me, the little group who cried out to
God is a sign that He is never absent.
He shows up everywhere, even at protests.
