Apples in the bin at the store.
He greeted me as I chose a bag of the
Mackintosh variety and placed it
In my cart.
We began discussing healthy eating
Habits and discovered we both choose
Our food wisely.
Somehow, I eventually found myself asking
Him, "Do you believe in a Creator, or are
You an atheist or agnostic?"
"Actually," he answered, "I would say I'm a
Non-practicing Christian."
"Wow! I've got just the thing for you," and
I gave him one of my tracts and wrote my
Blog address on the back.
"I'm going to pray that you will become a
Practicing Christian," and I asked him his
Name.
"I don't think there's much chance of
That," he said.
"Don't be surprised," I replied, "You must
Be special to be chosen for my divine
Appointment today."
I can only wonder why the man stopped
Engaging in his faith.
I didn't have time to ask him.
Was he disillusioned?
Was he a believer at all?
In my younger days I gave up on God, too,
But not for long.
I was too miserable trying to function on my
Own.
I pray the same for this young man.
