"Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vine, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the fields and no cattle in the stalls, (Though my husband is gone and I spend the rest of my life alone),YET I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights."—Habakkuk 3:17-19
Storing Up
The prophet knew disaster was coming, but
He didn't stock up on supplies.
Instead, the stalwart man stored up joy.
He was prepared to rejoice even if
Every bit of his livelihood was destroyed.
God's strength could not be taken away from
Habakkuk, even in his worst trials, and
God's mercies can never be taken away from
Me in mine.
