Them are more rewarding than teaming up
With a friend to deliver a loaf of
Bread to a new widow, to sit a
Spell and hear her tell about her
Husband who spoiled her.
She had been with him all day at the
Hospice facility, but he died after she had
Just returned home.
Life seems unbearable without him, but
Jesus and her kids are helping her to
Carry on.
My friend and I listened carefully to the
Novice who still can't fathom that the
Term "widow" can possibly refer to her.
She still feels married.
Janet and I understood.
We assured our widow-in-training that
Her feelings are normal, that she
Should expect the unexpected.
The three of us circled to pray before
We parted ways.
It's deeply satisfying to help a new
Widow face her grief journey.
We're proof that there's an end to it.
Joy's ahead.
