Despite what the calendar says, Fall isn't in the air. The rain drops pelting against my Window this morning soon became A deluge. The tree's foliage is green, not Gold, and my summer flowers are Still flourishing. Nevertheless, I pulled out one of My fall mugs for my morning Coffee. It helped my mood. And I'll uncrate my fall decorations Later today. Autumn can't be rushed. She will appear in all her splendor When she is good and ready. In the meantime I'll try to be Patient. I'll abide the rain. I'll be grateful for this day that the Lord has made, and I'll select a Different colorful cup for my afternoon Coffee break. |

In years past my daughter often
Fooled me on April Fools. But now I'm on to her, and she's Given up. (I believe.) But after warm spring days I Wasn't prepared for below Freezing temps this morning or For the possibility of snow Flurries. It appears that April 1st has Pulled a trick on me.
It took three tries, but I
Finally got it right. Even the sunshine this Morning is shouting out the News. Now I can officially say, "Good riddance winter." "Welcome spring!" Have a perfectly, delightful day! Spring was my mom's favorite
Season, while I have always Favored fall. She looked forward to the Daffodils springing up along the Road at the edge of our yard. The seed catalogues were already Arriving in the mail as she planned Her grand and glorious garden that Provided produce all year long. She was ready to dig in the dirt. I'm a "fall" person, but as I grow Older and the winter months seem to Drag on and on, I better understand My mom's affinity for the hopeful Season. I see the signs. The dirty snow piles have vanished and My neighbor's daffodils are on the Verge of popping open. I woke up this morning to drenching Rain. A spiffy mallard and his muted mate Were waddling in my driveway, Unlike me, relishing the rain. The pair has returned each year. How appropriate that they arrived This week, just in time to celebrate the First day of spring.
I'm glad my cozy chair is by my window so
I can look out at the snowscape. The storm has been on the radar for Days, and now it's over. The sun, shining on the white Blanket causes it to sparkle like a Glittery scene on a Christmas card. I see two men clearing my neighbor's Sidewalk, the advantage of living in A condo. I've already had my snow "fix" this Year. I'm ready for spring. I suspect the shovelers are as well. When they get to my place I grab Blueberry muffins from my freezer. I warm them up to reward them for Their work. Alas! I'm too late. When the muffins are finished, the men Are finished as well. They've departed in their trusty truck. But I find a solution. I take one of the treats to my neighbor who Is recovering from an illness. And I sit by the fire, sipping my coffee, Eating and enjoying the other.
