Neighbor to go grocery
Shopping, and on our way
Home she asks me to go
Through the drive thru at the
Fast food restaurant.
Last week as I passed her
Money through my car window
To the cashier, I noticed his
Long locks and his profusion of
Jewelry.
He was loaded down with
Necklaces and bracelets and
More rings than I could count.
I smiled at him and said, "You
Must like jewelry."
"Yes," he replied as I moved
Forward in the line.
Today, the same young man was
At the check out, and there were
No cars behind me.
"Would you like a bracelet to add
To your collection?" I asked.
"Sure."
I removed the bracelet from my
Wrist and handed it to him along
With the brochure that explains the
Gospel.
And I asked his name.
It was the same as my grandson's.
"I'll add you to my prayer list," I told him.
"Thanks," he replied as I drove away.
I hope the fellow is back at his post
Next week.
I hope he's wearing my bracelet.
