Each year on this day I Remember my first born Being born. Labor was definitely labor. Whew! But when our little one finally Emerged her daddy and I were Awestruck, lovestruck. And as my child grew, my Love for her grew. I've never gotten over the Joy of being her momma. Happy birthday dear daughter. Happy birthday Melissa Joy. |

I woke up to birthday greetings today on
Facebook. I've learned to take birthdays in Stride, now that I've had so many of Them. A card that I bought for a friend Years ago finally applies to me. "Congratulations! You are now too Old to die young." It's a benefit of aging. Thanks for your good wishes. It's been a traumatic year for
My daughter. Her son was in dire condition until His illness was finally diagnosed. And then weeks in the hospital With mysterious ups and downs Seemed, at times, almost too much To bear. Who suffers most, the child or The parent? Who can tally the toll? Not I. But now that Rachel is Celebrating her birthday, she is Celebrating Micah's returned Health as well, the best possible Gift a momma could have. Happy Celebration day, Rachie. I love you.
When your birthday falls on
Bible study day, a sweet sister Brings cupcakes to celebrate. And when she urges you to Take a few of the treats home, You stop by the senior facility and Share two of them with dear Friends. You give the last cupcake to your Almost blind neighbor, and you Find that passing your birthday Blessings around multiplies yours. And on the day after your birthday, You say "Thank you" a hundred Times over to your Facebook Friends who made your day extra Special. Jesus loves me this I'm told,
Even though I'm growing old. Despite my wrinkles and weak knees, He sees my young soul underneath. |
