The devoted wife and mom battled Cancer for sixteen years, plenty of Time to plan a funeral. But she didn't want one. She wanted a party instead. She insisted that the guests wear Bright colors and bring items for The food pantry where she had served. We followed her instructions. We were a rainbow of colors in the Sanctuary. We sang. We rejoiced. We heard story after story of how the Woman had touched the lives of Friends and family. We heard how she loved Jesus above All, and how He gave her strength for Her arduous journey. The reception hall was decorated with Balloons and silly jokes were posted on The tables. Happy music was playing. It was what she wanted. Indeed, it was a celebration. But I'm glad Donna didn't insist that There be no tears, for there wouldn't have Been any way to stop them. |
