It seemed like a good plan. My daughter requested a Texas sheet Cake for her birthday. But the cake would be so large, why not Cut the recipe in half? I baked it in a pie dish. When I took the cake from the oven it Looked great, but when I added the Frosting it sank. And when I cut the dessert it was terribly Dense, almost the consistency of fudge. I was distressed. My girls and I gamely ate a piece, although Missy tossed part of hers in the trash. I tried to determine the cause for the Catastrophe wondering if a different Pan would have worked. I finally told Rachel, "I'm really sorry about Your birthday cake." She took it in stride. We laughed. When a cake flops, or A bid on a house falls through or A relationship simply can't be Salvaged, It's best to just admit defeat, learn from Our mistake and fast forward. |
