When it comes to flowers I'm Partial to daffodils. They shout spring. When I was a youngster I loved seeing The yellow blooms along the fence in Front of our farmhouse, and I Gathered bunches for my teachers. I spied lots of the butter colored flowers On my way to Bible study. They seemed to pop up everywhere. I craned my neck, hoping to find the Posies planted in front of a deserted house so I could stop and pick a few. But my search was fruitless. I was the first to arrive at my friend's house, And when I walked in the door I Shared my daffodil obsession with her. "You won't believe this," she told me. "But I arranged a bit of a bouquet this Morning thinking it was foolish since I'm traveling tomorrow. When you leave, Take it with you." We both beamed. I carefully transported the tiny vase Home in my car, trying not to spill the Water. And now the daffodils adorn my piano, A sweet reminder that my friend loves me and My Father spoils me. |
