We met in the aisle at the store.
It was "Comfort."
"It's what we all need right now."
We smiled behind our masks.
I noticed she was limping.
"It's my hip. I'm having a replacement
Next week."
"I'll pray for you."
"Thanks."
Before moving on I told the dark
Skinned woman, "I love you, sister.
We need love not hate."
"Yes! Yes!"
I wish I could have hugged the lady
With the soothing name.
Before Covid 19, I would have.
But even at a distance, Comfort and
I bonded.
