We've supported each other for
Forty years, and because we're
All aging, a number of our ladies
Have already "graduated."
At a get-together today eleven of
Us golden friends enjoyed food and
Fellowship.
We sat on a porch looking out over the
Beautiful countryside rejoicing in
God's goodness.
As we always do, we went around our
Circle and shared our blessings and
Struggles since we last met.
But as often happens with old timers
We began to compare health
Experiences:
Heart problems,
Gall bladder removals,
Lung issues,
Ailments too personal to mention, but
We discussed them anyway and laughed
Uproariously.
The husband of our hostess silently listened to
Our litany of infirmities and then he
Summed up our conversation.
"My mom had a name for this type of
Meeting," he said, "She called it an
Organ recital."
And I told the gals, "I must surely write a
Poem."
