I had worn the jacket only once when
I saw the spot, a remnant of dinner.
Rats!
I tried not to be irritated.
In the scheme of things it was a
Small matter.
I chose to drop the garment off at
A dry cleaner I hadn't used before.
While I waited, a car pulled up to the
Drive thru and I told the lady at the
Counter, "Take care of her first.
I'm in no hurry."
The gal in the car looked familiar.
"Do I know you?"
"Worthington Christian?"
"Yes!"
As we chatted through the open
Door the cashier kindly allowed me
To step behind the counter to
Hand the driver a gospel bracelet.
Meanwhile, the clerk overheard our
Conversation and was intrigued.
"I'm praying for opportunities to
Share Jesus too."
Just two days earlier at church, her
Pastor had exhorted his congregation,
"Don't let old age hinder you from
Living out your faith."
For the next half hour my new friend
And I got acquainted and
Encouraged each other to be
Lovingly bold.
I gave her a bracelet, too, as well as
A sample of my tracts.
Before I left, we reviewed the string of
Events that had led to our timely
Meeting, and we marveled at God's
Creativity.
He can use even a stain to work His
Wonders.
