Check out at the discount store,
She reached for her wallet.
"Oh no!"
It was lying on the coffee table in
Her living room.
"I'll run home and get it," she
Told the flummoxed clerk.
A kind woman behind her offered to
Pay the $9.00, but since my friend
Lived just minutes away, she
Thanked the lady, but declined.
Nevertheless, when the manager
Came to aid the cashier who was
Still flustered, she not only
Offered to pay for her purchases,
But insisted on it.
"In this world of greed, two people
Reached out to me with generous
Spirits," my friend said.
"Goodness still exists."
At home, when she recounted the
Beautiful story to her husband,
He asked, "How will you bless her?"
So back my friend went to the store
With a gift, a devotional book that she
Found to be most meaningful.
She handed it to the manager and
Said, "Each day you will find
Encouragement from these pages."
"Thank you, thank you," the lady
Replied, "It's just what I needed."
And I just needed to pass this good
News story along.
