Mail when I noticed a man checking
His box as well.
He was wearing a leg brace and
Barely able to hobble.
"It looks like you are recovering from
An accident," I said.
"Yes, it happened at work and I need
Surgery."
I sympathized.
"When will it be?"
"I don't know yet."
"I'll pray for you."
"Thanks. I need all the good vibes
I can get."
After we exchanged our names I said,
"Just a minute. I have something for you."
I hurried to my car, retrieved a tract from
My purse and handed it to him.
The title was "Life Is Hard," just a few lines
Describing how God had sustained me
As a young widow.
"Every morning I pray for a divine
Appointment, and today you're it."
He was pleased.
"We're both going to have a good day," he
Responded as we waved good-by.
Even with an injured leg,
Even in a pandemic,
Even when life is very, very hard,
Good days are possible.
