I wrote this poem 5 years ago today. If my daughter hadn't reminded me of the date, I would have forgotten. We rushed to the hospital this Morning and got here just in time. Now, I sit and wait. The sign is posted on the wall over The welcome desk. "Waiting Room." As I sit here, I ponder. What am I waiting for? I'm waiting for my daughter to Have a procedure in her brain, A delicate process that will either Help or hurt her. I'm waiting for her husband to come So we can wait together. I'm waiting for good news. I'm waiting for a word from the Lord. He responds. "My peace I leave with you. My peace I give unto you. Not as the World gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled. Neither let it be afraid." * His words calm me as I continue to sit here And wait. *John 14:27 (And it was good news. After 5 years Rachel is still doing well.) |
