I walked on my favorite Trail at the park today. Yellow leaves hung on limbs High above me, on the trees Surrounding me, and carpeted The ground. Golden foliage, Heaven's color, a bit of glory Spilling over onto my world. I said, "Thank You, thank You" To the awesome Artist. As the leaves floated to the Ground, I wanted to shout, "Stop! Hang on just a while longer." But I poked along enchanted by The vibrant display, and I wondered. Would I appreciate the color as much If it were around year round? I believe the brevity of the beauty Heightens my enjoyment. But I'll really never know. |
