The urgent thought came before I Got out of bed. Visit Jeb today and share the Gospel. He's my 96 year old neighbor, The dear man whose wife Recently died, Who goes to bed at 5:00. I was fearful. "What if he's offended, Lord?" He answered with a verse. "Have I not commanded you, Be strong and of a good courage. Be not afraid..." * Like Gideon, I wanted more Proof. When I opened my devotional Book, the topic leapt from the Page. It dealt with courage. "Okay, Lord, I get it. I'll go." Armed with two tiny cupcakes and My prayer booth bracelet, I rang Jeb's doorbell. He greeted me warmly, and we Conversed on lots of topics Since his mind is still Wonderfully sharp. Finally, I pointed to the leather strap Around my wrist that sported 5 Colored beads. "Have you ever seen a bracelet like This one?" "No." Pointing to the beads I explained What each one meant. "The yellow one is the color for heaven. The black one stands for our sin that Keeps us out of heaven. The red bead shows that Jesus died On the cross to pay for our sin. The white color represents what Jesus does when we accept Him As our Savior. He washes us White as snow. And the green Color shows us we want to grow. Have you ever asked Jesus to Forgive you, Jeb?" "No." "Would you like to?" "Yes." And I led him in a prayer. Did he understand it all? No. I don't either. But it's a new beginning for Him, and I'll be back to Share more. I floated home with praises Whirling in my head, Thankful that I hadn't pushed Aside the urge to visit Jeb. *Joshua 1:9 |
