I ran into the gas station to grab a Cup of coffee on my way to a Meeting. As I waited in line I chatted with The lady in front of me. When she placed her single item on The counter, it wasn't 99 cents as She thought, and She lacked a dollar and change. I whipped out my wallet and Told her it was my joy to make up the Difference. Despite her hesitation, she allowed me To cover the cost and she thanked me. We continued our conversation Outside the store, and I discovered that The woman is on disability because a Deranged patient at the hospital where She had worked tried to kill her, and almost Succeeded. She showed me the scars on her arms where She had been cut. I was stunned. In respone I shared my tract with her, how God gives us hope in difficult situations. I'm glad Patty was short of cash, for I Needed to hear her story, and she Needed to hear mine. |
