Traveling home we stopped to get
Gas.
When we went inside the store to
Purchase coffee and pop I saw a
Police officer chatting with the
Employees.
I began to clap and said, "I applaud you."
"Are you my cheerleader?" he asked.
"Yes, I don't know how you do what you
Do."
"And you don't know what your
Encouragement means.
Thanks."
Behind the cash register was a
Lovely gal of color with long
Fingernails painted blue.
I asked her name.
And then I gave her an air hug and
Said, "Brielle, I spread love and not
Hate. It's just a small thing I can do."
"But it's important, she replied.
"Thanks."
As my grandson and I headed to the
Car I was grateful that in this season of
Unrest, I don't need to take sides.
