Our first snowfall, Long in coming, but lovely, Causing treacherous traveling on The roadways, but Cozy nesting in my house, Causing some folks to flock to The slopes, and others to Flee to the south. Craved but cursed, Desired but despised, Savored but scorned. I'm amused as I listen to the verbal Volleys of those who love The snow and those who hate it, And I must admit the battle sometimes Wages inside me. There can be no winning of the Winter weather war. But I don't care one bit as I snuggle Under my heated lap blanket and Sip a cup of hot tea laced with honey. |
