Do folks iron anymore? I still do. Two tops were hanging on my Closet door waiting to be Pressed. Since I had extra time today, I tackled my task. I placed the shirts one at a time on My trusty ironing board that I had Pulled out of its hiding space in my Hallway wall. I used my spray bottle to moisten The fabric and then pressed the Wrinkles away with the iron that Once belonged to Mom. It does a better job than any of The newer ones I've tried. While I worked, my mind was Distracted from the gloomy news That seems to pervade the very Air we breathe. I was pleased to see my progress as I moved my iron from the collar, to The sleeves and then down to The back and the front of my shirt. As I pressed I allowed my mind to Wander, to flit from thought to Thought not dwelling on the Dreary ones, but the pleasant ones. And when I hung my freshly pressed Garments in my closet I felt a sense of Accomplishment for a job well done. Ironing is much more than just removing Wrinkles. |

As the plants grow, their blooms follow the
Sun. That's why they are called sunflowers. When my neighbor planted the seeds she Didn't expect them to grow so tall. But now the giants tower over her fence and Their gangly grandeur causes me to Gape and chuckle. If I radiate God's love and mercy and Grace, I'll be a Sonflower too, and As I bloom, in all my awkwardness, I'll bring Him pleasure. "For the Lord takes pleasure in His people." Psalm 149:4
It was a physicist who discovered
Radio waves in the 1800s. They'd been an invisible presence in The atmosphere all through the Ages, but it was Heinrich Hertz who Created a simple device to receive them, To prove their existence. My knowledge of physics is abysmal, But I can borrow the principle. God is also invisible, but it doesn't mean He's not operative in the universe. The reason people believe He's just a Myth, That He doesn't exist is because they Haven't opened their hearts and Minds to receive Him.
